Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields.
The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.
Assist analysts and technicians with the unitization of capital assets, reconciliations of general ledger accounts, resolution of kick outs and errors in the PowerPlan system, and accounting for joint venture projects. Participate in meetings with business users developing capital assets. As needed, assist on special projects as the group ensures the capital assets are accounted for properly.
You will need to be comfortable with asking questions, participating in meetings, communicating with other individuals and be willing to learn the work required of this position. This position provides you with opportunities to learn about the accounting for property, plant, and equipment at a public utility.
It is also beneficial if you have some exposure to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Additionally, exposure to SQL type programming or reporting would be desired.
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
